The Youth Ministry offers programs for students from junior high (7th grade) through high school. In everything we do, our burden is to advance the Gospel to the next generation. Based on our theology of youth ministry, our approach is threefold: build teens into the Truth; walk alongside parents; and integrate teens into the church. In other words, our youth ministry is Gospel-centered, parent-equipping, and church-based.
During the fall and winter, our schedule consists of two primary activities: weekly small groups and large group gatherings (every other Sunday night). Our small groups meet every Wednesday night from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the church. Small groups are the primary “vehicle” for advancing the Gospel with the youth. It is in this context where the truths contained in the Scriptures can be both comprehended and applied. The small groups are primarily divided into junior high and high school. By God's grace, the youth ministry has been blessed with tremendously gifted adult volunteer leaders who help lead these groups. The Sunday night large group gatherings are held every other Sunday night (I send out weekly emails with: what that week’s study will be, reminders for when we have our next Sunday night gathering and any other youth related information) from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The primary purpose of these large group gatherings is to build into the youth relationally. We have a firm conviction that the best way to advance the gospel with the youth is through relationships. It's also during this time of the year when we have our Annual Fall Retreat.
Our summer schedule changes to just Wednesday nights from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM (or whenever your youth need to be home) and no Sunday nights. We tend to do a short study with a lot of hanging out on these nights.
