Greetings!

This email is an update of what is going on at Grace...
SNEAK PEEK OF THIS SUNDAY'S SERMON –
SPEAKER: Merritt Anderson
TITLE: The Gospel & Assessments
TEXT: 1 Corinthians 3:18 – 4:5

Ladies' Night OUT: You are invited for dinner and fellowship on Tuesday, February 21st at 7:00 pm. We will meet at Tokyo One, 9443 Lorton Market Street, Lorton. If you have questions, please contact Melody Langone at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Parenting Seminar March 9-10th: All parents are invited to attend "Give Them Grace," in which we will look at what the Bible has to say about our roles as parents. Hear how the good news of Jesus is central to the way that we teach and train our children. We'll also explore some ways that we can use the gospel as we engage with our children on a daily basis. Sign-ups are taking place on Sundays in the foyer.

Free Market: On Saturday, April 28th, from 8 am - noon, GBC will be hosting a large garage sale where everything is FREE! The purpose of this event is to benefit both those in our congregation and in the local community. Come and shop for items needed, or donate gently used children's clothing and/or small household items that are in good, working condition. Please no furniture, VHS tapes or old TVs or computers. Donations will be accepted on Friday, April 27th, from 9am - 7pm. Volunteers are needed!! If you would like to volunteer to help with this event or have questions, please contact Darryl Jackson via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Book recommendation for Easter: Some Christians prepare for Easter by celebrating Lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday (Feb. 22nd). This year, we would like to suggest a book for you to read: Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross, edited by Nancy Guthrie. There is no better way to prepare for Easter (April 8th) than to remind ourselves of the passion and power of the foundation of the gospel. This little book will assist you in doing just that. Since the chapters are short, we recommend that you try reading one chapter a day, beginning on Ash Wednesday. Right now the book is 50% off at the Westminsterbook store. You can also order it through Amazon (a Kindle version is not available)

Welcome Class: Our next Welcome Class is scheduled for Sunday, February 26th, at 9:30 am in Room 115. Anyone who would like to learn more about Grace Bible Church – who we are, what we believe, and what we emphasize – is invited to attend. The class will be hosted by Brandon and Stacey Fitzpatrick.

Youth Group: The Youth Group meets every Wednesday and every 2nd and 4th Sunday, 7:30-9:00 pm. Students in grades 6-12 are invited.

Volunteers Needed for Hospitality: If you are available during the 2nd service to restock the hospitality table, please contact Lillian at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Men's Ministry: The next Men's Ministry meeting is Saturday, March 3rd, 8:00-10:00 am. You are
invited for food, worship, and a brief message.

Child Dedication Class: There will be a Child Dedication service on March 18th. If you would like to participate, Merritt Anderson will be holding a Child Dedication class on March 4th, 10:30 am in Room 115. Please email Merritt at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you have any questions

Parenting is hard. The details of daily life with children can quickly become overwhelming, for even the most organized parents. Meals, school projects, and sports practices keep us running around and keep us wondering if we will ever get a break. In all of our running around and busyness are we just checking off tasks or are we giving our kids grace as they live life alongside us?

The Bible has a lot to say about how we parent and what's to be front and center in our parenting. The Bible help us to prioritize what's most important as we parent our children. The Bible even tells us what's to be the centerpiece of our parenting.

Join us as we look at what the Bible has to say about our roles as parents. Hear how the good news of Jesus is central to the way that we teach and train our children. Explore some ways that we can use the gospel as we engage with our children on a daily basis.
