For the Sake of the Gospel

I woke up this A.M. and read 1 Corinthians 9. After I finished I could not get away from the question, “What will I do for the sake of the gospel?” That is the question that I have struggled with all week. What will I give up so that I might tell someone the good news of Jesus’ death for sin, burial and resurrection? What will I deliberately and actively do so that someone might hear the good news of Jesus? The answer to that question has already been given—the way I live my life answers that question. The way I live my life reveals just how important the gospel is to me. The way I live my life reveals how important people are to me. It is impossible to separate people from the gospel. For the gospel is all about the salvation of people and people without the gospel will not be saved but will die in their sins and will suffer for all eternity for their unbelief.
I now know the answer to my question. However, I do not like the answer to my question because I know that although I have believed the gospel and I consider it very valuable to me, the truth is I give up very little for the sake of the gospel so that I might see God save some.
