Cherise Curby

A native Virginian, Cherise began working as an administrative assistant at GBC in 2012. She grew up in a fantastic Christian family, was saved at a young age, and married her best friend straight out of college. A journalist "by trade," she loves to read and write about people and freelances graphic design. She also works as a website project manager/editor for another non-profit, teaches classes at a rec center, and is always trying to learn something new. Someday she plans to work in an orphanage overseas, but it may not happen until she's 80.

As many of you know, our own Marisa Bejar has been battling cancer since last year. Her treatment has been intense, but her faith strong! This summer she is participating in the Avon Walk for the Cure in D.C. and  Debbie Stapleton, Sarah Smith, and Julie Christensen hope to be by her side. They invite you to help raise the money for their entries.

There are multiple ways you can help:

  • Sunday, April 28, after each morning service at GBC, there will be a Bake Sale with homemade goodies by the team members. Bring some cash to support the team and enjoy the treats!
  • You can also donate at any time by going to www.avonwalk.org and click on donate.

Thank you for all the support you have given to Marisa, her husband, and two young sons during this time. Let's rally around her for this endeavor as well!
