What to Expect

Thinking of attending a Sunday Service? We’d love to meet you. Here you can learn a little more about our culture and practices.

Culture

Grace is a young and ethnically diverse church full of life and vitality. Typically, a Sunday gathering is casual. You will see everything from sports coats to jeans so you should not be concerned with what to wear. Come and be yourself—we will be glad you're with us.

Jesus is central to everything we do as a community. And everything we know about Jesus is in the Bible—God's written word given to us. So we expound and teach the Bible as God gave it to us—often teaching through entire books in the Bibles. The Bible guides our decisions, informs the way we relate to one another, and helps us know how to think about our city. We strive to be people who are more and more trying to live out the Gospel in everything we do, while still recognizing none of us will ever "arrive" this side of Heaven.

So, at the end of the day, we're a bunch of folks who do not have it all figured out, but who put our unceasing hope in the fact that Jesus is changing us daily to be more like Him.

We think you will find that our Sunday gatherings are a reflection of our joy and hope in the work of Jesus in our lives.

Practice

Every church has practices. Many don't admit it or just don't talk much about them. But in reality, practice is simply a way to describe what happens in a public religious service.

In other words, our practices are what we do when we get together to worship God.

At Grace, every aspect of our Sunday Service has a purpose. We've worked hard to create an order for the service that encourages participation from the whole community. And we do this in two ways: the practice of the Word and the practice of Response.

In the practice of the Word, we worship and listen to God through His Scripture. We sing rich songs that are theologically informed. We pray for His guidance and listen to a sermon by one of our pastors. Typically we teach from the English Standard Version (ESV) translation of the Bible.

In the practice of Response, we respond to God's Word through communion, our giving of our offerings, and other forms of worship born out of the truth of the Gospel.

We do all this for a reason: every Sunday Service at Grace is intended to help our church live lives marked by a lifestyle of worship, grow into vibrant and mature followers of Jesus, and spend their lives for the advance of the Gospel.

Students

We have a Student Ministry that anchors itself on the same mission that the church as a whole has: developing maturing, vibrant followers of Jesus Christ. Check out the Students page to learn more about this ministry.
