Skip has lived in the Lorton area most of his life, with brief stays in Woodbridge and Alexandria. As a child he attended Pohick Episcopal Church, was taught about Jesus, and always thought that as long as you were baptized as a baby, and completed confirmation classes at the proper age, you were heaven bound.

He married Dottie in 1982. Dottie grew up attending Gunston Baptist. After some debate, Skip and Dotte decided to start fresh at what is now Grace Bible Church.

Through the actions and teaching from great mentors like, Dan Hopkins, Chester Pettis and others, as well as life's hard lessions, God opend Skip's eyes to what Jesus Christ had done for him, on the cross. He continued to release control of his life to Jesus, and has been changed from the heart, out.

Skip and Dottie have now been married for almost 30 years. They have two grown children, Tracy and Ted, one granddaughter, and four grandsons, all living in the immediate area. Skip loves spending time with family and friends. He and Dottie love riding their Harley and traveling to locations to scuba dive, as often as God will allow.
